U.S. Betting Terminology
MONEY LINES are the U.S. equivalent to what the international punter calls "head to head" game betting. This is displayed in a format of e.g. " -175" and "+150" meaning that at -175 you would need to wager $175 to win $100 the same as approx 1.57 in decimal format and 4/7 in odds betting and the +150 meaning you would need to wager $100 to win $150 the same as 2.50 in decimal format and 6/4 in odds betting.
SPREADS are the U.S. equivalent to line or handicap betting, they are displayed as " -6.5 and +6.5 at 110" meaning at the "+ or -" points you must wager $110 to win $100 this will change occassionally to 105 and 115 once again the points at -6.5 and +6.5 which means betting $105 to win $100 and $115 to win $100. The common betting of 110 is equivalent to 1.91 in decimals and 10/11 in odds.
