march into Super Bowl history

The New Orleans Saints have captured their first Vince Lombardi trophy with an upset 31-17 victory over the Indianapolis Colts in Super Bowl XLIV in Miami.
As they did all season, the Saints relied on their efficient offence led by quarterback Drew Brees as well as their explosive defence and a few risky plays to conjure a famous victory.
Trailing 10-6 at the half, New Orleans dominated the second half with Brees throwing for two touchdowns to Pierre Thomas and Jeremy Shockey.
Tracy Porter then intercepting a pass from Colts playcaller Peyton Manning and returned for a touchdown to give the Saints a match-winning 31-17 lead with three minutes remaining.
Manning was unable to set up a thrilling finish as the Saints defence held firm in the red zone in the final minute.
More to follow soon.
