AFL gets tough on gamesmanship
02/02/10 01:00 PM
The AFL has moved to address the problem of staging for free kicks, by making the practice a reportable Tribunal offence.
Players will now be reported by umpires if they are deemed to have staged to gain an advantage during a match.
The first offence will bring a reprimand, while a second offence will see the player fined $1,600.
The sanction will rise to $2,400 for a third offence.
